Your body is not - and never will be - the problem
From a young age, we’re taught that the
way our body looks matters (a lot). Diet culture comes at us from all
angles to tell us to be smaller and thinner to be more beautiful and
socially acceptable, and it has detrimental effects on our health.
We spend our lives trying to shrink ourselves.
Abusing the body we’ve been given. Using clothes and the numbers on the
label to define goals and achievements. ‘Fixing’ our natural physiology.
 Causing harm to look ‘healthy’.
But, your body is not, and never will be the problem. Your body is what
keeps you alive. It knows exactly what it needs. It keeps you safe. It
will continue to show up for you, no matter what you do.
The problem is society. The problem is the widespread lies we’re told.
The lies that spread and thrive through generations, through media,
through ‘words of love’.
Your body is yours and only yours. No one else has the right to comment, belittle or blame your body.
It may come from a ‘place of love’. But that’s not what love looks like.
Your body is built to carry you through every walk of life. And with
every walk, your body will adapt and change to be best equipped. Treat
it with the love, compassion and kindness that it deserves.
