Here's how to cure a hangover
Maybe your go-to is a Mcdonalds after one too many beveragino's the night before.
You do you. But I urge you to try this next time.
We all know the feeling. Pounding head. Churning stomach. Sore eyes. Few bruises. Feeling like you've been hit by a reversing dump truck.
Most hangover symptoms are a result of being dehydrated and having depleted mineral stores and water-soluble nutrients like B vitamins and vitamin C.
Here's 4 things you can do to feel better immediately:
(hint: it's not a McMuffin and hashbrown, sorry)
1. Drink water
You probably woke up at 4am with a mouth as dry as the sahara desert so you drank from the bathroom tap. But this time, grab a glass (a big one) and have some water.
I bet you broke the seal far too early and were pissing all night. You need to get guzzling to replace the lost fluid.
2. Add some salt
When you're drunk and pissing up the walls, you also lose electrolytes, along with the litres of fluid. Try adding a small pinch of good-quality sea salt to your glass of water to top your electrolytes back up.
3. Top up your B vitamins
The B vitamins are water soluble. So, guess what happens when you wee? You lost a lot of them too! Low B vitamins make us feel lethargic and fuzzy headed.
4. Increase magnesium intake
Low magnesium can contribute to the dreaded hangxiety. It can also make you feel sick, tired (other than the late night) and appetite changes, Increasing your magnesium intake can help ease symptoms
Key hangover fighting ingredients:
- Green leafy vegetables (high in magnesium)
- Eggs (B vitamins and magnesium)
- Whole grains (B vitamins and magnesium)
- Sea salt (electrolytes)
You'll never have to say no to a Jägerbomb again! #winning
