Your body is not a trend

Just like fashion trends come and go, so does the 'ideal' body. But, we can order a new pair of shoes with a bit of dosh and just a few clicks. Our bodies? It's not so easy.

The 'ideal' body shape of each generation is different and erm...impossible to achieve in a natural, healthy way. It's ironic how something considered 'ideal' is actually biologically not ideal...at all.

My body will never look like Kate Moss', nor will it ever look like Kim Kardashian's without severe restriction or surgery. Neither I'm willing to participate in, FYI. It will never look like your body, because it's mine - just like yours is yours and every body is beautiful.

If you really want to get down to it, our body is merely a shell, or a medium that allows us to live this life so it really has minimal meaning in the world.

We're so often as a society, chasing this idea of 'perfection', putting ourselves in extreme situations, like starvation or surgery to achieve something that is completely unachievable. Even the people that have the 'ideal' don't have the 'ideal' without unhealthy habits, photoshop and surgical help. And then guess what happens? The 'ideal' shifts to something new. No one can ever win.

We have spent so long wanting to change ourselves, let's see what happens when we love ourselves, just the way we are. Then everyone wins. Change the culture, not your body.
