Wellness Myths You Need To Stop Believing

Wellness is a word that we hear a lot. It is used by everyone and their nan.

If you haven't heard the word yet, then congrats.

The Global Wellness Institute defines 'wellness' as the active pursuit of activities, choices and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health.

It is comprised of 6 dimensions: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental.

Although, I've stumbled across far too many 'wellness' blogs that claim celery juice is liquid gold, running a marathon will leave you feeling on top of the world and carbs are the devils work.

Juices are not more nutritious than eating the actual food. They also taste like cat piss and the lack of fibre means you will most probably be sat on the toilet within 2.5 minutes of drinking.
If I ever possessed the motivation to run a marathon, I can almost guarantee that I won't be feeling too peachy afterwards.
and, CARBS DON'T MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT. They are your bodies main source of energy and they are bloody tasty.

I'm creating this blog to dispel the myths surrounding wellness and speak of other wellness dimensions because, despite what you're told by social media, the way you look is the least interesting thing about you.

you are so much more than what you see in the mirror

I want to bring a new light to wellness and help you understand that health has to come from within.
Health isn't a 'one size fits all'. It's not a food, drink, or a number on the scale.
It's when you're at your happiest: physically, mentally and spiritually so that you can live life to the max.

Sorry to say but Lisa's celery juice isn't going to help you bloom into your best self.

I have made it my mission to empower each and every one of you to embrace self-love, overcome fear,  spread kindness and find true happiness within.
