this is why you should definitely quit

We have it drilled into us that quitting is bad. We associate it with admitting defeat, losing or being lazy. 

But quitting can be a good thing. 

We all want to try something new. Start something new - be it a business, habit or task. 

But, we usually need to sacrifice something else to be able to fulfill this new desire. 

Quitting. 

Quitting usually is what allows you to start something new. 

Maybe you need to quit that job. Quit your morning snooze to be able to go on a walk before work. Quit a relationship. There's probably something in your way. 

Here's how to decide whether or not something is worth quitting: 

 

Are you thinking of quitting?   Yes?   Is it shit, but will it be worth it in the end?   Keep going.   Is it shit, and not worth it in the end?   Yes? Quit  or,   Can you change it so that it will be worth it in the end?

 The first question to ask yourself is 'is it worth quitting?'

If you're reading this, the answer is probably yes. 

The next question is "Is it shit, but will it be worth it in the end?" 
Sometimes you may be working towards a reward, or a personal achievement, a solid relationship, a healthy life, etc. For example, running a marathon - it will (probably) feel shit, a lot of the time. But, you will feel amazing (probably after), raise money for charity and develop a super-human strength - both physically and mentally. 

Yes? Keep going. You've got this. 

No? Ask yourself "Are you able to make a change, to make it worthwhile in the end?"
Can you go to couples counselling to help solve your problems, or is your boyfriend just a dick? 
Is your job toxic af? 

Yes? Make the change and keep going. 

No? Quit. Say goodbye. Walk away. 

Some things are worth pursuing. Some are just shit and no longer serve a purpose in your life. That's ok. But, don't waste any more time on the really shit things just 'because'.
